CAMPING FOR 3 DAYS

Yeah! The guys are leaving and just us girls are here on our own for 3 days. The only thing is that we have to do the paper route by our selves. Kinda nervous about that, because I'm not a morning person and tend to push the snooze button quite a bit. But all is good DD and I can clean the house while there gone.
I made S'mores to go for the guys to take with them. I dought there will be much cooking, just food in a bag. Timothy is the only one that can think of something fast to fix. Thomas is my baker and you can't bake during camping. Well you can but hes not that advanced.
Not that I sent them like this, are you kidding! All that's on there minds are fish. These are to pass out at work. All you need is
 Giant Marshmallows

 Hershey bars broken up
Graham crackersand preheat the oven on broil
Lay on parchment paper like this.
Put the marshmallow on top of the Hershey bar.
Watch carefully while you broil for 1 minute.
Top with another piece of Hershey's chocolate so the Graham will stick.
We had a busy night with all the kids coming to the door. I put glow sticks at the bottom and a little boy asked if he can give one to his little bother and himself. My daughter couldn't resist, he was so cute.

My husbands nieces came to the door, Kayla and Lindsay.
We had a lot of older kids this year, not many young ones.

My daughter put out the decorations today. She was worried that no one would knock if our house  was bare. We waited till the last minute this year. I didn't feel like going to the storage and dragging all of the boxes out. We usually get pretty detailed.

It was a beautiful day today for the tricker treaters. Everyone was worried all week with it raining everyday, but it turned out perfect. Hope everyone had a great Halloween.

RECYCLING DAY

Today we needed to get all of our plastic and aluminum together and turn it in to the recycling place. Its drizzling and gloomy but it has to be done. The gardener cant even get his lawnmower through the mess. All of the cans are overflowing out to the patio.

When we arrived to the recycling bins there were two people before us. I thought that was easy. We wouldn’t have to wait long. Then everyone started to pour in. The man that was gathering the cans became concerned and said “I thought it would be a quite day“. We made $47.00 out of it. Next week it will be the bottles, now that will be a chore!

Yesterday my Farm fresh to you box came in. I was so exited to see it. Well everything sure did come from an organic farm, it needed to go into the sink for a bath. There were some items that I have never tried before, like Kale which I believe can be added to soups like lentils. Collard greens I'm not sure about.

My DS#1 was exited though to try them. The kids dug into the pears and carrots. That’s a good thing. It will be fun to figure out how to prepare and use these jewels.

Smell the goodness.

RAINY DAY, TIME TO BAKE

The weather forecast said slight chance of rain. Around 10:00 am I heard it on the roof top, petter patter. I love that sound. Who wants to go out in cold dreary weather.

Time to put a log on the fire, and some comfy clothes to start baking.
I checked out some of my favorite food blogs and found on thesisterscafe a cinnamon roll recipe that looked really good. I printed it  out and started getting everything ready about 12:00 pm. Hubby came home from work so I made his favorite, a tomato and mayo sandwich, which is the last one from our garden.

DS#1 had the kitchen as a chore last week. He said once he moved on to the next chore someone would have it dirty the next day. Sorry son!
By the time the dough proofed 2x's and finished in the oven, it was 7:30 pm.

YUM!!!

I'm exhausted. They're a lot of work. I hope everyone loves them because I'm to tired to clean the kitchen. Guess what I'll be doing at lunch tomorrow. I know, its not the flylady way, but she will forgive me this time.

MAKING SECONDS COUNT

Today we had our School Bus Inservice on Making seconds count at the Auburn Fair in Auburn Ca.
It started at 7:00am. and we were there till 1:00 pm. It was worth 6 TOI hours which was worth getting up early. My coworkers were already there and saved at seat for me. They provided bagels, I tried the strawberry bagel, yum, with cream cheese. Cinnamon bagel holes which were a little strange, I wouldn't buy them. Starbucks coffee was really good of course, and some type of fruit rolls.

They say a School Bus can go up in flames in 3 minutes. Thats pretty scary when you think about how many a bus can hold and how to get all of them out safely. Thats why we have bus evacuations every year to show the children what to do in an emergency. Constant training well insure they will remember what to do.
The Auburn Fire and Auburn Police had a drill on how they would take care of a bus on fire.

This was an acual bus that has an electrical fire in the front under the hood. Likely the driver got out safely and there were no kids at the time. They just put the car in front of the bus so the firemen could rescue a volunteer. In the bus the trainers put 4 other volunteers with a tag explaining what was wrong with them. After the volunteers were all taken out of the bus, the firemen went to talk to them. Everyone yelled, there's still a baby in the bus! 2 of the firemen ran back in and found a stuffed gorilla under the seat. Alwas look under the seats, because if a young child is scared they are trained to get down in a fire.

After the demonstration, we were able to go down to the bus and check it out.
The engine were the electrical fire started........................................................................
The back of the bus were the emergency door is.
The stair well were you get on the bus.
 This is the drivers seat.

LAST WEEKEND EVENT

I promised TJ we would go to the chili festival. He loves chili. But we were late.
The event started at 11:00 am and we arrived at 1:oo pm and there was no Chili in site.

All we found was a row of farmers markets.

And a dream come true. A farm fresh to you. To my door. I read about this on a blog and clicked on her link. It said there was not a delivery in our area. WHAT THE HECK!!!
Then I turned the corner and couldn't believe it. I ran over there and signed up immediatly. It will start next week, can't wait.

There's your peppers son. But we went home with asian and regular paers.

Then we started to leave and saw a row of vintage cars. A coworker usually brings his cars but he had a soccer tournament to attend to. Hear are some more.

Next year we are coming early and bringing our dogs. It was a dog friendly event.

Deleberation and Verdict

Today was the last day of the trial. Prosecution had one more witness then we went in to deliberation. It took about one hour before we decided on 2 counts of guilty. I'm glad its over but it was quit interesting to listen to. Tomorrow its back to the ol' grind. I can't sleep because of my schedule is all messed up.

BREAKFAST WITH FRIENDS

Hubby and I met some friends this morning at 6:30am after the paper route. We decided it would be at Pacific Street Cafe in Old Town Roseville.
It is one of our favorite places to eat breakfast.
The restaurant has a toy train that goes all the way around the room will we eat. While in the background you can hear the real trains going by.
My breakfast was eggs Benedict. Delicious. Our friends had scrambled eggs with bacon and scrambled eggs with ham. Dear hubby had the works of course.

Then we rushed home to take a nap before my hair appointment at 10:30. When that was done, I rushed home to get TJ so we can put the Sunday papers together.
For supper it was spaghetti.
